Foto’s in dorpshuis Hollandsche Rading

De eerste reactie van bijna iedereen: “Hè he, eindelijk. Waarom heb je dit niet veel eerder gedaan?”
Tja jongens, ik was er gewoon nog niet aan toe gekomen. Eén van die ideeën die maar achter in je hoofd blijven knagen. Tot nu: vanaf nu hangen er permanent twee van mijn foto’s in de zaal van het Dorpshuis Hollandsche Rading. Het idee is om daar natuurfoto’s te hangen die de bezoekers al het moois laten zien dat zomaar in de buurt is te vinden. En om de foto’s elk seizoen te wisselen, wat mij weer een reden geeft om er ook heel veel op uit te gaan. Een soort permanente wisseltentoonstelling van de natuur door het jaar.

Misschien ga ik het geheel nog uitbreiden met een buitenfoto in mijn voortuin, als een soort openluchtmuseumpje (zoals de buren een tuinbibliotheekje hebben). Als het zover is, laat ik dat wel weer weten.

Wedding day

They were sitting on a bench in my father’s idyllic village. I asked if I could take a picture of them. Of course I first had to explain what my intention was.
“In honor of the birthday of a famous Dutch street photographer, we were invited to take a picture in his style as a tribute. So we try to take a picture the way he would take a picture.”
“You look like a serious photographer,” She said. “So go ahead. But first you have to take a picture of us with my cell phone.” It was their wedding day; they enjoyed the sun, the beautiful surroundings and especially each other.

Portraits in the rain

“Shall we postpone?” she asked. “The weather forecast is bad. A lot of rain.”
“Let’s just try,” I replied. “It will be dry between showers. And actually I think portraits in the rain are quite special. If it doesn’t work out, we’ll decide on the spot to go again another day.”

We did take some great portrait photos in the sun and in the shade. Then the rain came. And yes, of all these pictures, the ones in the rain are definetely my favorites!
